- Carmy and Claire's relationship in The Bear teases a potential union in future seasons, offering hope for a happy ending.

- The Bear season 4 must bring Carmy and Claire back together to resolve their past and pave the way for a shared future.
The Bear isn't known for its optimism or the promise of a happy ending, but there's a huge clue embedded in the story that teases the possibility of Carmy and Claire settling down together when the story concludes. While the characters offered one another some much-needed love and affection for a short while, Carmy's ill-fated outburst at the end of The Bear season 2 led Claire to be pretty much absent from the most recent run of episodes. However, a cryptic wink in the show suggests The Bear season 4 or beyond means the permanent union of Carmy and Claire.
After debuting in The Bear season 2, episode 2, "Pasta," Molly Gordon's Claire Dunlap quickly worked her way into the fabric of the show while also being the center of Carmy's romantic desires. When both characters are left to their own devices, they seem very well-suited. Unfortunately, the stresses of Carmy's career goals successfully drove a wedge between them in the season 2 finale, with the conflict not being resolved in the most recent season. Thankfully, Claire's alias could mean a much more upbeat fate than remaining apart from her potential other half.

Claire Dunlap's "Claire Bear" Nickname Could Foreshadow Her Marriage To Carmy
Gordon's character could eventually be called Claire Berzatto

A handful of The Bear characters refer to Molly Gordon's character as, "Claire Bear," although not always to her face. At face value, the endearing monkier seems like nothing more than a fun little rhyme. As a result, the embedded reference to the show's title hidden in Claire's nickname is hidden in plain sight. While there are a few different meanings behind The Bear's title, one of the interpretations is a not-so-subtle nod to the show's main character. Although he's most often addressed as Carmy, Carmen Berzatto is also known to some as "Bear," as a play on his surname.

Traditionally, a woman takes the man's surname when a marriage takes place. Therefore, the "Claire Bear" nickname could be a subtle foreshadowing of what Gordon's character could be called if she were to become Carmy's wife. If she were to become part of the Berzatto family tree and lose her current surname of "Dunlap," then she could realistically become Claire Berzatto, the first two syllables of which is her current nickname in The Bear.
Claire & Carmy Ending Up Together Is The Happy Ending The Bear Needs
The Bear is overdue some positivity in Carmy's journey
The Bear makes no effort to add unnecessary gloss to everyday scenarios, instead focusing on the uphill struggles of day-to-day life and challenges that can seemingly arise from nowhere. As a result, it can be a stressful watch, if not also entertaining. With so much drama threatening to wrench the tight-knight cast of characters apart at any moment, a somewhat happy ending for Claire and Carmy is the very least the show can do to make sure the show's ending doesn't end on a sour note.
With The Bear already showing Mikey's funeral, as well as the impending arrival of Natalie's baby, the show has made it clear it doesn't shy away from life's milestones - whether they're good or bad.
With The Bear already showing Mikey's funeral, as well as the impending arrival of Natalie's baby, the show has made it clear it doesn't shy away from life's milestones - whether they're good or bad. Wedding proposals are one of the most pivotal moments in the lives of many people, so it would be very on-brand for The Bear to show Carmy going down on one knee before the final ever episode. That being said, their future together may only ever be implied rather than appearing onscreen. That is, if they do end up living happily ever after.
The Bear Season 4 Must Bring Claire & Carmy Back Together
Claire & Carmy need to make up before their future together can come into focus

Molly Gordon's Claire Dunlap had an incredibly reduced role as part of The Bear season 3's cast when compared to season 2. As a result, Carmy and Claire still aren't on speaking terms after the former accidentally caused them to split up in the season 2 finale. So, before their relationship can continue any further, they need to be reunited in The Bear season 4. The more time that passes without Carmy making a proper effort to reach out to her, the less likely it becomes that they can forget the past and look to their shared future.

Although The Bear season 4 is confirmed to be on the way, there is currently no guarantee the show will continue beyond that point. With the level of success The Bear has enjoyed so far, it's unlikely to be canceled before being given the chance to conclude at its own pace. However, it could be that writers only ever planned four seasons. If so, The Bear season 4 could be the final chance to restore the romantic dynamic between Carmy and Claire.
